Moab Off-Road Adventure Elopement

Epic views as far as the eye can see, with the Green River winding through the canyons below, and stunning sandstone cliffs and mesas in the distance make you realize just how small we are in the big scheme of things.

What a perfect place to be fully present in the moments that a couple shares in these sacred places; moments that are as grand as the universe itself. It is hard to find words to describe this experience we have of documenting a couple's love and the wilde places that it take us, but alas we will try simply by sharing a glimpse into Jennifer and Steven's love story with imagery.

Jennifer and Steve road-tripped across the country to one of their favorite places, Moab to do some epic off-road adventuring... on one of those off-road tips, they started out on their greatest adventure yet, marriage.

They started the day off with a morning road trip to get Jenn’s hair done in Grand Junction and met up with us on the way back at a little area near the winding Colorado river to get a little dirt on the tires before doing some fun photos around Moab. There is no official “Starbucks” drive-through in Moab, so they brought along their special Starbucks cups, to celebrate that their first kiss was in a Starbucks parking lot; and instead of a coffee shop parking lot, The Moab sign seemed like the best spot to really kick off the adventures of the day.

As the day turned into afternoon, it was time to take the road less traveled to an epic overlook for their ceremony The drive to the ceremony spot must be accessed by high clearance 4x4 (a location like this was one of Steve's only requests for the day.) But judging by the grin on Jenn’s face as we scrambled over rocks and across the top of the open plateau, her dreams were coming true as well!

Upon arriving at Marlboro point, we took some time to settle in, taking in the breathtaking views as the clouds rolled above us, offering a bit of shade from the hot desert afternoon.

Soon it was time for a quick change out of hiking gear (hello wedding dress!) and to ditch the Starbucks cups in exchange for a bouquet and boutonniere by Wild Escape Floral and make our way to the overlook for their first look.

Just in case you didn't notice, these are the moments that we absolutely love to capture!

"Love has brought us here today to this beautiful place - to witness and celebrate the beginning of a whole new adventure and chapter of life for the two of you."

With this ring, I marry you and bind my life to yours.

It is a symbol of my eternal love, my everlasting friendship,

and the promise of all my tomorrows

Another Quote From The Ceremony

"Like in any relationship, there will be a few bumpy roads and mountains to climb, but together you are strong enough to get through anything because of the foundation that you have built. "
"I ask that the two of you always remember: Relationships are something that must be worked on all the time, not only when they are broken and need to be fixed. Never stop doing the things that brought you together in the first place. Like… long road trips together, opening the car door and the thank you kiss that comes right after, cheering each other on, being honest even when it might be easier not to, and all the other things that make a life together fun!"

The Newlyweds Jennifer & Steven

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.” -Pablo Neruda

As the sun crept closer to the western horizon, Jennifer & Steven relaxed and had a picnic dinner overlooking the Green River while enjoying a special charcuterie board by Sweeter With Thyme.

During the picnic, we take a break too, giving you some quiet time just to appreciate the beauty that surrounds you as you snuggle with your soul mate... but can still catch a snap of that kiss from a distance

Time To Celebrate!

As the celebration wrapped up, the sun was hidden by clouds and the golden hour descended into night; leaving us with just enough time for a few details photos and to hand the camera over to Jenn (She is a photographer too!) for a few photos of her own to remember the day.
